Upon initial consultation, Dr. Anderson will determine objectives for treatment and formulate a treatment plan. Services are provided in a relaxing, quiet atmosphere, located in a professional building with free parking and accessible by transit.
Dr. Anderson's approach to psychotherapy is one that is based on biological, psychological, and social factors and is informed by current research. Factors including physical health, emotional well-being, and interpersonal supports and relationships are all important to mental health. You may be familiar with the term “cognitive-behavioral therapy,” and indeed this work incorporates focus on both thought styles and behavioral patterns. We often find that that insight into how these patterns developed is important in bringing about change.
The goals of psychotherapy will be developed and discussed with you. It is important that you feel you are working toward goals that are important and valuable to you. As much as possible, we will make these goals tangible and attainable.
